Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023
Privacy
Short version: we collect what you type into a form so we can reply about your machine. We do not sell it, we do not share it, and you can have it deleted by asking.
Who we are
MACHINEGRADE (MACHINEGRADE), Uppal, Hyderabad 500039. For anything on this page, write to info@machinegrade.in.
What we collect
- What you give us in a form or on WhatsApp — your name, phone number, email if you provide one, and the details of the machine you are asking about.
- Photographs you send us of a machine, for the purpose of grading it.
- Basic server logs kept by our hosting provider, which may include IP address and browser type. These are used for security and troubleshooting.
- Anonymous usage statistics, through Google Analytics — which pages were viewed, roughly which town the visit came from, what kind of device, and whether anyone clicked WhatsApp, the phone number or a form. See below.
Analytics, plainly
We use Google Analytics to see which pages are useful and which are ignored. It sets cookies and Google receives your IP address, which it discards rather than stores. We can see that someone in Hyderabad read the undercarriage guide and then clicked WhatsApp. We cannot see who they were.
Nothing you type into a form is ever sent to Google. Your name, phone number, email and the machine details go to us and to nobody else. When a form is submitted, the only thing analytics records is that a form of that type was submitted, and from which page.
If you would rather not be counted, any browser's tracking protection or an ad-blocker will stop it, and the site works exactly the same without it. Nothing on this site is gated behind analytics.
Beyond Google Analytics, this website loads nothing from any other server. No advertising networks, no social media pixels, no content delivery network — even the fonts are served from our own domain.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and carry out any work you engage us for.
- To keep a record of machines we have inspected, including the outcome. This is the working record of the business.
- To meet tax, accounting and other legal obligations.
We do not sell your details, share them with advertisers, or add you to a marketing list you did not ask for. Where we need to pass a detail to an inspector, a supplier or a lender in order to do the work you asked for, we pass only what is needed for that purpose.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that go nowhere — two years, then deleted.
- Records of inspections and transactions — eight years, which is what tax and limitation periods require.
- Machine condition data — retained as part of our working record. Where you ask us to, we remove the personal details attached to it and keep the machine data in a form that does not identify you.
- Analytics data — held by Google under their retention settings, currently fourteen months, then deleted automatically. It does not identify you and we cannot connect it to an enquiry.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to erase it, and withdraw consent you have given. Write to info@machinegrade.in and we will respond within 30 days. If we cannot erase something because the law requires us to keep it, we will tell you which record and why.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Where you contact us on WhatsApp, that conversation is also subject to WhatsApp's own privacy terms, which are outside our control. If you would rather not use it, email or the forms on this site work equally well.
Confidentiality
Separately from data protection: we do not discuss your machine, your price or your reasons with any other client. That is a commercial promise as much as a legal one, and it is part of what you are paying for.
If anything here is unclear, ask rather than assume — we would rather answer the question than have you wonder.
